Earthquake Aid - ongoing
“DON'T cry, don't cry. It's a disaster, and you've survived” China's prime minister, Wen Jiabao, told weeping orphans in a town almost flattened by the country's worst natural disaster in more than 30 years. We have co-workers located not far from the epicentre of the earthquake who have been able to get word out that they are safe. On Friday May 23 officials estemate the number of dead at over 51,000, most of them in Sichuan Province north of the provincial capital, Chengdu. With many trapped. There are an extimated 289,000 injured and nearly 30,000 missing. Whole villages have been buried in mudslides. Our workers in China have been involved hands on with the relief work. |
As the pictures show it's not easy and many of the people we're serving are in very difficult to access areas. The little truck being used was really struggling but manpower saved the day! As well as taking rice and flour along with other basic food items they are providing new piping to assemble for better water provision to homes. We have opened a fund which will be set aside to aid the relief work If you would like to donate to our ChinaHeart Sichuan Fund. Funds donated are tax deductable. Will you help? 9-15 million orphans in China!
This young girl has grown up not knowing her past. She has a beautiful smile, but sadly that often is only masking whats really going on for her.
In the Bible it says that God's nature is “One Who cares for the afflicted and desires justice for the poor.” ChinaHeart's mission is to bring this kind of love, care, justice and hope to those in need within China. Children need loving arms around them to feel secure, special and loved. Click here.
ChinaHeart serves the poor, needy and orphanaed in China. We have children from orphanages and remote village areas desperately in need of sponsors. These are children, the poorest of the poor, many surviving on just a meal a day. We have children from remote village areas desperately in need of sponsors.
