 
How is your support impacting China
It's a good and fair question to ask any organisation involved in our kind of work or ministry; how do the funds come in and more importantly how are they are spent. Too often gifts and donations can be spent on high levels of administration or infrastructure.
ChinaHeart has a team based in Sydney, Australia, and workers living inside China. Other than our child carers most of our co-workers are volunteers. Therefore little of our finances are allocated to administrative wages.
In Sydney ChinaHeart is hosted in the offices of a separate and private company. We are blessed to receive administrative support which means that there is very little expense in office and clerical requirements.
The result of this is that around 90% of all funds and gifts that ChinaHeart receive are used in the projects in China. We recognise that as we grow this may not always be the case. However we will always endeavor to ensure that the highest percentage possible of funding is actually used to directly help the children in China.

ChinaHeart is a registered organisation and charitable institution. We are also proud to be a partner organisation with Global Development Group.
David Ryan is the founder and Executive Director of ChinaHeart. You can find him either in the office in Sydney or in the orphanages and villages of China where he spends around three months each year. As well as leading ChinaHeart he is also the owner and managing director of a successful business with a great supportive team.

Beyond the above Senior Leadership Team we also have various people in a countries including China, Singapore, Taiwan, England, USA and Australia who provide wisdom and guidance in specific areas concerning Chinese culture and systems, childcare and humanitarian aid.
Governance
In Australia we are often asked about tax deductibility. This is one aspect of our Governance procedures. All donations over $2 to Global Development Group approved* aid & development project J506 & J640 ChinaHeart are tax deductible* in Australia & the USA.
When you donate your gift will be acknowledged by ChinaHeart. At the end of the financial year you will receive an approved receipt for taxation purposes which will carry our name and logo as well as the partner's name, Global Development Group. This receipt will summarise your giving to ChinaHeart during that financial year.
*China Heart International is proud to be a partner of Global Development Group (ABN 57 102 400 993), an AusAID approved NGO carrying out quality humanitarian projects with approved partners to relieve poverty and provide long term solutions. Global Development Group takes responsibility for the project according to AusAID rules, providing a governance role and assisting in the areas of planning, monitoring, reviewing, and evaluating to ensure that project J506-J640 ChinaHeart is carried out to Australian requirements. Tax deductible receipts for donations to this approved aid and development project will be issued by Global Development Group for project J506-J640 China Heart.
